Plywood, like building formwork, plays an important role in construction engineering. Compared with natural wood, plywood has the advantages of high wood utilization rate, good scale stability, small deformation, large standard scale, rich exterior decoration, good mechanical processing performance, etc. It is widely used in furniture, wooden doors and windows, wooden handicrafts, packing box manufacturing. Dado, suspended ceiling, decoration line and other interior decoration materials; As well as the interior facade decoration of vehicles and ships, it is an important raw material for interior decoration and furniture manufacturing.
In order to make full and reasonable use of forest resources to develop building plywood production and make the best use of materials, China's newly formulated national standard (draft for approval) classifies plywood according to the use of plywood plates. One type of plywood is weather-resistant and boiling water-resistant plywood, which has the advantages of durability, high temperature resistance and steam treatment. The second type of plywood is water-resistant plywood, which can be immersed in cold water and hot water for short time; the three types of plywood are moisture-resistant plywood, which can be immersed in cold water for a short time and is suitable for indoor use at room temperature. For furniture and general construction purposes; four types of plywood for moisture-resistant plywood, in the indoor normal use, general purpose plywood materials are beech, basswood, ash, birch, elm, poplar, etc.
Plywood not only has all the advantages of natural wood, such as light bulk density, high strength, beautiful texture, insulation, etc., but also can make up for some defects naturally produced by natural wood, such as nodes, small width, deformation, vertical and horizontal mechanical differences and other defects. Plywood has no sawdust. Every 2.2-2.5 cubic meters of logs can produce 1 cubic meter of plywood, which can replace about 5 cubic meters of logs sawn into boards. For every 1 cubic meter of plywood produced, 1.2-1.5 cubic meters of surplus can also occur. This is a better material for the production of medium density fiberboard and particleboard.
